2009 R1 Vs 2009 CBR1000RR (Fireblade)
IMHO, a good , an in depth first review .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST4rDqrnVZ4 I like my 08 1KRR |
god, i personally think the 2009 R1 is one of the absolute ugliest bikes I have seen in years.
|
They can talk up the new R1 all they want, I still wouldn't buy one over a Honda. Personally, I would buy the 07 CBR over an R1. I just picked my 08 CBR up last weekend and my dealer had a brand new in the crate 07 in the shop. For $8,000 I was very tempted but at $10,400 for an 08, I had to buy the newest beast.

I do like some Yamaha toys but they have the most alien looking ugly bikes ever! yuck
|
Both bikes were rather unattractive.(edit) The paint job is ugly on the fireblade, the r1 is just ugly period) The R1 sounds amazing
|
after seeing this bike in person, yes it is rather ugly, and i would still pick a fireblade, but damn does that engine sound nice (sounded like but hole in the vid, but in person it sounds like a V-twin) . I wonder if other companies are going to pick up on this crass plane crank shaft stuff, from everyone i have talked to it is apparently the shiznit.
A nice improvement over the old R1s, as i have heard a lot of complaints about their lack of a bottom end. |
The only thing that impressed me about the Yami was the amount of GP based technology in the thing.
Yeah, it's ugly as all get out. Least they got rid of that license plate holder that looked like the Enterprise. I'd take the Honda.... |
Id take a pre 09 R1 over a RR anyday.
|
They talked about how easy it was to ride the Blade. The R1 with all of its technology made it a bike that needed more attention. Personally I would like a bike that lets me enjoy the ride, not one that makes me have to put all my effort into just riding.
I'm not going to the track, I am far from any type of racer, so why the hell would I need all of that. it sounds like an ego thing for the Yamaha. |
