Default Teknic boots?

I thought there was a gear sub forum here? Anyways, I just picked up some Teknic Violator boots.

They are VERY tight. I'm wondering if they will break it a bit. I know most shoes/boots break in a bit, but these seem so STOUT I don't know if they will and if I should up a size, before I scuff them at a track day and can't return them.

What do you think?

Well, in the past, with both Sidi and Dianese boots, they have loosened up after a few sessions on the track. Unfortunately, I can't speak for Teknic.

I'm mainly concerned about the toe area. Did the Sidi and Dianese boots loosen up in the toe area?

My Sidi's never loosened up as far as tightness on my toes. But I have wide feet. There not uncomfortable, but definately snug. They didn't loosen up like shoes do.

As for upping a size, I would only if your toes are really close to touching the end of the boots. You want to have feel through your boots, and wearing boots that are too big is just not a good idea in my book. the other problem is, at least with Sidi, they jump two whole shoe sizes for every boot size. So a one size jump will be fairly large. I think teknic follow the same style of sizing, but not 100 percent sure.

I went up a size to 45 and they're great! Thanks!
