Racing 2010
Grand Am no longer runs at Laguna (May have something to do with AMA not going back, as well), Grand Am's scheduling leaves a lot to be desired, as does the new AMA schedule. If left to their own devices, and some outside managers arent brought in, AMA will nver be the top teir series it once was, IMO.
Are you sure they are not going to Laguna this year? It is on the schedule.
Adrian, never too late to chime in. I was just reading Edmonds is no longer incharge & there might be a change in direction to return AMA Pro Racing to what it use to be. I agree Buell had no place in SuperSport. I think this year will probablly suck, but hope next year, teams will return & make it as exciting as MotoGP & WSBK.
I noticed that this weekend, I must have looked a a preliminary AMA schedule. That being said. Laguna was one of Grand Am's decent attendence weekends, but the way they structured their sanctioning fees, SCRAMP (Who manage Laguna) had to pack in a bunch of support races to make it economically feasible for them, thereby reducing our track time to about an hour and a half on Friday for parctice and quallies and then 45 minutes on Saturday, followed by the race Sat afternoon.
The spec motors should level theplaying field some. And, at least in the first season, the chassis will be pretty equal, but once the wealthier teams get some development time on them......
I agree with adrianinflorida. Seems to be a breath of fresh air...
