Scorpion EXO 700 Helmet Opinions
Okay, I just bought my first bike, cbr 600rr, and will be picking it up next week. The dealer had a helmet, the Scorpion EXO 700 Helmet, for $209 in solid colors. I just saw an onlline store that is selling the EXO 700 Crackhead Helmets with clear and smoke shield for $159 and free shipping. Anybody know if this is truley a good helmet like the dealer said it was. I know Shoei and Arai are better, but I just can't afford that right now and $159 sounds like a great deal on a great helmet. What do you think, I want to make sure I am safe especially since this is my first ride.
Here is the link to the helmet I like: http://www.thehelmetsource.com/Merch...de=CLOSEOUT700
Thanks for your advice!

I have the EXO 700 and I really like it. Its a pretty light helmet and atleast for me it feels just as comfortable as the last shoei I wore.
Check out what everyone has to say about them here: https://cbrforum.com/forum/showthrea...corpion&page=4

I was very happy with my EXO-700 and will be getting another one. But helmet fit is an individual thing - your dome may not be shaped like mine. You're taking a chance on fit and comfort when you buy online. Ordinarily I would say it's not cool to try on at a dealer (taking advantage of his space where he pays rent/utilities, etc.) and then buying online, but considering that he's already making money by selling you a bike, I could justify it.
And other posters are right - you can get various colors of the EXO-700 on ebay for about $120 shipped.

I have the exo 700 predator red/silver it is light and comfortable and the vents work great. I also have the dark smoke and silver mirrored visors they are great on sunny days. I got the yellow exovision visor for when i am coming home from work at night
it really helps brighten everything up and it works great on cloudy days and in the rain.
However i am planning on buying the exo 1000 rpm helmet red/black just to have a spare helmet.

I just ordered the Scorpion Exo-700 Burst silver/blk for $118 shipped from sportbiketrackgear.com on closeout.

I tried on helmets at the Indy MotoGP race in the manufacturers midway and found the Scorpion helmets run a tad small. I normally wear a small, but their medium fit me perfect.
It was time to replace the AGV XR-2 Rossi 500 that I've had for 5+years (GReat helmet by the way...didnt quite fit my melon right though)
