Default Opinions on Frank Thomas XTi II leather jacket

I bought a Frank Thomas XTi II leather jacket at Cycle Gear on New Year's Day for $120. That's a pretty good price for a leather jacket but I have heard mixed opinions about FT gear. Should I roll with this deal or pay 2-3 times more for a different jacket????

Definitely cheap gear, but at the same time will definitely save your ***. My bro went down in north GA / Blood Mt with a 1 piece FT suit, and it held up pretty well. To this day, he still doesn't remember going down. He ended up getting another full piece FT suit to replace the rashed ones. So I'd say keep it. Especially if it's just the jacket. Keep in mind that it needs to function just as well as when you didn't wear the jacket.

Iv got a pair of FT winter gloves and rate them 10/10. More expensive brands from manufactures such as Dianese don't last more than a years use.
These FT gloves are perfect on the feel factor, kangaroo on the fingertips and palm give great grip.

5 star. G

I bought a Motoboss AirSpeed mesh jacket for summer riding at cycle gear before Xmas. It was originally $140 and I got it for $50. Seems well put together and for the money I couldnt turn it down. Ive never bought any FT stuff but I didnt like it near as much as the Motoboss stuff. Just another brand to look at in case you return yours. Im sure they make leather jackets too.

Crashed in their one piece XTI @ the track. Was going pretty fast, went tumbling. Gear held up great. Had a nice hole in the meshy part between shoulder and chest though (same issue with my Fieldsheer leather jacket). The metal shoulder inserts and all the armor worked great. My *** hurt though because it doesn't have any hip/*** padding so I bought some padded shorts to rectify that issue.

Only real problem is that my knees hurt a bit from the armor after a long day. Also the leather softens up nicely if you use some leather conditioner and break it in. I have also heard great things about their gloves.
