Default Helmet maintenance

what does everyone use to clean there helmet (i.e. visor). I started with a paper towel and moved on to the cloth overlaying mothers sewing machine lol seems like theres small circular micro-scratches and maybe even a few nicks (mighta just been carelessness earlier)... I did shoot some rain-ex and attempted to lightly buff it, as the directions tell you to, maybe it just needs to get rained on

For cleaning - Plexus

Vroom microfiber towel for the wiping down. like 10 bucks for 8 or 10 of them or something at target

And every now and then gets a spray down on the inside with Fabreze antimicrobial and let it sit for the night.

Water and paper towels. No smudges and no bugs, I clean it after every ride. Hell I even clean the front of my bike with water and paper towels and get about 95% of the bugs off.

The visor? Arai (my helmet manufacturer) says to clean with soap and water, so I do. Just by hand. Paper or other towels to blot dry; no rubbing with the paper towelsor the mirror finish may be 'compromised.' Bugs come off very easily this way, unless I don't 'get to it' for days or something.

Paper Towels.. really?????.. not the best choice IMO. You can get small swirl marks/scratches from them. My helmet gets 'Invisible Glass' by Stoner, and I dry it with a microfiber cloth, visor gets the same treatment. Plexus as Nate said is awesome as well. I use that for my headlight and taillight, or you can buy "Honda Spray" from a dealership and use that for everything. It is a spray cleaner so you don't have to wash your bike, per se.

My visor doesn't have any scratches or swirls from paper towels But if I had a more expensive helmet I would use a microfiber towel.
