Helmet leak - solution of sorts
So, two weeks ago I was riding 530 miles through North Carolina to Georgia when I went through some bad weather. I had my trusty all weather suit which kept me dry. But my helmet which is new ( full faced) started to leak from the top. I was mad because I spent alot of money for my helmet but water was dripping on my nose for over an hour. Then around Colombia another weather front got me and my nose was getting wet again. I had it. I was going to fix my helmet issue. First i applied rain X to improve my visibility. Works great by the way. Now the leak. I went to autozone and asked for some weather striping with some adhedesive. I couldn't get any weather striping small enough to grab the width of the helmet visor. The fix was some windshield wiper hose that I cut down the middle to match the length of the top of the visor. With that I bought the 3M weather strip adhesive and put it on the top on my visor. I used the 3M adhesive sealing the hose to my visor inside and out to make it look like a professional look. It came out great! Best of all. It doesn't leak. I took it in the shower and ran the water over the helmet for over ten minutes with no leaks inside the helmet. Best of all, the visor still goes up and down as designed and I fixed my problem for under ten dollars. Good luck all weather riders.
