Dual density foam vs CE approved armor vs GP protectors?

I am looking for a riding jacket and would like to know the difference between these two types of protection and which one is better. I assume the CE is better since the jackets with them are more expensive. Also do textile jackets provide as much road rash protection as leather? Thanks for any help.

RE: Dual density foam vs CE approved armor?

only textile that will match up to leather is aerostich stuff.
make sure your stuff fits nice and snug or else while sliding your skin will move inside the leather and you'll get rashed that way.
as far as CE protection, yes you want CE certified and it's better than DF, but there are also different levels of CE certification.
Make sure the stuff fits right and as adequate CE rating AND is hard to take up for force of impact, but with enough padding to absorb it.

RE: Dual density foam vs CE approved armor?

I have pretty much narrowed my jacket search down to an Icon Motor Head or an Alpine Stars TZ-1. The Alpine has Race-developed GP protectors with injection-molded shell and dual-density foam padding. Is that just a fancy way to say dual sensity foam or is GP protectors a good thing?
