Default Project CBR is in progress......

Well it was time to restore the ol girl and bring her back to glory days.......so the tear down has begun. Lots to do as she needs lots of work after 23 years, Here are pics from yesterday and today. Will post progress as we go along. Have to repair some cracked fairings, fork seals, may as well go thru the carbs, get tires, paint, ect....like I said..lots to do!

Wish me luck as my OCD is kicking in and I see me spending a ton to restore this bike to new....LOL

made some more progress, forks off, tank off, past point of no return now....LOL

I now know why she was running like trash...the 4 boots for carbs to engine 3 are torn.....so carbs are coming off next, needed to go through em anyways. I am a bit apprehensive on the forks as I have never done fork seals before....how hard can it be? LOL

Carbs are off...notice the torn and misformed intake boots.........

Now the undertail and sub wire harness has been moved as well as battery box, coolant tank and the OMG "birds nest" of a non factory alarm installed many, many years ago.......what a freaking mess.........

So, hopefully tomorrow nite the drivetrain will be out so I can send the frame, tree, forks, swingarm and wheels to be powder coated. This has become a frame off resto at this point.

The parts list is getting long but it will be worth it in the end......

Is that the original engine? That big marker pen A108 has the look of a wreckers stock number?
