Here she is.....I feel lucky to have her! The guy said she's never seen rain...and after pulling the plastics for a coolant flush, I believe him!

So let's see,

7,148 mi ÷ 26 yrs = 446mi/yr

It's really hard for me to wrap my head around that. Why would a guy hang on to it for that long, if he's not going to ride it?

It's even worse than that. Because he bought it new in 1993. Haha. Yeah, I don't know. The way he described it to me was he bought it because a friend of his bought a bike and they rode together. Then his buddy sold his, and he didn't ride alone much. So I'd say MOST of those miles were put on it the first year. Why he'd hold onto it? No idea...he's an engineer...Hahah...and truthfully, had he not dropped it in front of his house 2 years ago (which prompted the new Michelin Pilot Sport tires), I don't think he'd EVER have sold it. I'll take the damage and low miles. It's really a nice bike. I freakin' LOVE it.

My 98 was even more low mileage when i got it. it had 96 miles on it in 2013 when I got it off of the original owner, one of my best friends.
I asked him that very question and he really couldn't offer an answer. He bought it with no motorcycle experience and realized bikes weren't for him.
The odd thing is that he really didn't want to let it go even then.

They're so beautiful....even today, that it's easy to see why someone wouldn't want to let it go.....awesome bike.

It was 7,019 miles when I bought it. In 23 years. 1.2 miles per day. It's gone up since I got it. Hahaha...

It never ceases to amaze me even in Australia there are old bikes that get ridden half a block once a month to get a bottle of milk.
There are some real treasures out there. The 1975 water bottle that I have had travelled 2500 mile when I bought it and I've only put just under 500 mile on it since having it.
I bought both water bottles off the same guy and he thought he'd just buy the new model when the 1976 one came on the market so parked it in the shed.
When I was there, I noticed a number plate and it was "XB351" and in the shed under so much rubbish was this yellow ford gt hardtop.
His comment was" yeh a bloke was out a few months back and offered me $90k for it but I couldn't be bothered pulling everything out of the shed to get to it".
He is about 65 yrs old, single and still lives with mum and dad on the farm.
True story mate. I was gob smacked. He has a myriad of other bikes and cars that when he got bored with it, roll it in the shed and cover it with whatever and get mum and dad to buy him something else.
He's never been further than a couple of hours away from home, never been on a train or plane.
Mum and dad bought a heap of land and every few years they sell off a bit to developers and the money rolls in.
