Default New OldGuy, Hello with Pics...

Found this forum last spring, but it slipped my fading memory...

Bought my Hurricane 1000, new, way back in May 1987. It was my first 'slingshot', though I have been riding since '64. Still looks good, but the ol'goil needs carb rebuild, (crap gas from sitting over winters, even with Stabil), and it is 'depressed' from lack of use. I had 4 sleds 'in use', now down to 3, including this 'Cane. For a Qtr Century old design the sumbitch still looks pretty modern, though m'cycle tech has come a long way in the past 25 years.

Look forward to catching up/reading my azz off, here on this forum.
A couple three pics of my 'Cane...
Thanks for looking.
GL, mD

I bought that seat bag and a tank bag, way back in late '87...from a company called RKA, in California. Still in biz, though I didn't see the same bag(s) on their site; some digging through the site, or a phone call may hook you up. That tail bag is good looking, blends in, but does not hold a lot: just some stuff to carry along.

Thanks to all, for the kind words...I let the registration expire this year, (in North Carolina one must first get m'cycle or car inspected before one can re-register for the year), so I have to turn in the plate, get the scoot flat bedded to my local, very busy Indie, and get the carbs re-done. A paperwork and logistics nightmare...

And, I find myself riding one of my 3 sleds less and less, each year, here in my mid-60s. But, I want to get my 'Cane running well, again. She is like a well preserved older woman: looks very good from several feet away.
Best Regards,
Ol'UncleMotor

Welcome, David! Very nice old 'Cane.

That whole "inspect before you register" thing is pretty dumb. We register and then inspect. I'd be in trouble if PA was like NC. lol..
