[QUOTE=Two steps forward, one step back[/QUOTE]

But, that's still forward progress. Keep at it, You will get there. Just out of curiosity, when you say that it's hot up there, what are the temps like?

We've been getting mid-30's. That's too hot for a Canadian (Maybe 90-95 F)

That's pretty warm for up there. That's about what it is down here in the southern U.S. I think we are sitting about 65-70% humidity.

That humidity is killer. Calgary gets 10-20%. Even bare steel takes a long time to rust in this town

We don't do well in the heat. Even our dog refused to go outside. Ever see a Canadian on vacation somewhere hot? Not pretty

We're just fine in the cold though. I wear a t-shirt down to about 5 C (40 F)

I'm a northerner by birth. I love the cold weather. It is entertaining to watch the temps drop to the 30's and let there be a hint of snow in the forecast. BOOM!! Every slice of bread and every drop of milk vanishes from the stores. It's pandalerium.

Haha I know some Texans and they say the same thing. They were telling me about all the snow they got this year. The way they described it was almost apocalyptic. I tried my best to be sympathetic

That was good info and a good read - Glad you are getting things close to where you want them. I'm still riding mine, pretty much just lubing the chain, changing the oil and wearing down the rear tire. It still starts a little hard and is butt ugly without the fairing on, but I guess my pride has not matured to an adult level yet. When I want to feel old I just jump on the Wing and try to get from 0-60 in under 47 seconds lol

Truth. I always say the goldwing is a very technical bike. If you can get past the underpowered 1100, you get to contend with a super soft suspension, terrible brakes, high center of gravity, zero cornering clearance, and skinny tires. It's not a bike that handles excitement very well - but if you come into a corner too hot, it's among the most thrilling bikes I've ever ridden. It's a classic in the worst possible sense of the word

Still, there's not a lot of bikes I'd trade it for. She's a keeper

You just described mine perfectly. I don't care what people say about the great touring aspect either - On the 2,000mi trip back from FL a few weeks ago I was thoroughly beat and my butt hurt from that crappy seat. However, it does provide good rain protection and the stereo is loud - Love the channel flipper and mute control. Mechanically it purrs like no other, kind of a bitter sweet experience with that thing.

Have you done anything more with your CBR yet - I'm getting ready to work on my plastics soon. Spring is coming...
