New to CBRF need advice on apparel

Hello, all. I'm a new guy here, so I hope I got the right forum for this. I'm sort of new to riding. I'm looking to get a CBR 600RR soon, and want to have proper gear for it by the time I do. I recently found the jacket I have likes to choke me when in the full or even half-tuck position. It collects an air pocket behind my back and tries to sever my head. Is this going to happen with all jackets that are not secured to riding pants? Can anyone suggest some decent jackets. I'm a pretty small frame guy. Thanks.

Most bike-specific jackets are cut to allow for the forward riding stance.
I'm betting your's is a regular-cut street jacket.

Your best friend for equipment on a budget is Craiglist. There are always a bunch of
folks in transition, who will part with quality gear for cents on the dollar.
Since you're buying local, that also gives you the chance to try it for fit.

I outfitted my wife with helmet, boots, jacket and pants for under $200, using
Craig's and the thrift-store/pawn-shops.

I highly recommend that you don't stop at a helmet and jacket, but also add the
pants, gloves and (at least) ankle-high boots to your gear. And then ALWAYS wear it.

You're making a wise decision, realizing that the gear is as important as the bike.

Good luck, Ern
