Icon Merc gloves A+++
 

Just wanted to give some feedback about Icon Merc gloves, long gauntlet style. These gloves have taken everything I've dished out. I've used them for two solid yrs in all kinds of weather, & all kinds of riding. They've held up great! Only problem I've ever had was one of the index fingers coming slightly unstitched at the tip. I promptly sewed it up w/ some nylon thread & its been great ever since. The leather seems to be a thicker gage than many others. As such, they are good for cooler & warmer climates.

There seems to be some criticism of Icon gear for some reason but I've had nothing but good experiences w/ these gloves & the Icon Daytona riding jacket as well. Also, I find the Icon gear I've used (gloves & jacket) to be great value for the money. Many other brands cost much more for perceived better quality.

If you're after conforming to the elitests that look down on Icon users, that will only use certain brands b/c that's what racers wear, etc, then Icon gear may not be for you. However, if you at least want good gloves that are great performers, as well as the Daytona jacket, then give 'em a looksee. Personally, I could really care less what others think of my gear...I'm the one using it.

Additionally, just want to say that during the time I've owned my Icon Mercs for daily use, I've used Spidi, A-Stars, & JoeRocket, at the track...& all of these came apart in some sort or fashion. I didn't use the Icons at the track b/c they were a little thicker. However, I got tired of the others coming apart & spending so much. So, I used the Icons at the track recently & after several trackdays, they are still going strong.
