QuinC,
I have one of those (Throttle Rocker II) and it didn't work out. Plus I heard of jacket sleaves/gloves getting caught on it. I found that it is no different than riding with your palm open. I have one in my drawer I will send it to you (free) if you send me your address. But my advice is;
Get a throttle lock from vista cruise. I had to modify it for my F4i, but it is much better.
The basic mod it to cut of the knobbie thing on the vista-cruise until it is simply round. Check placement, then drill a hole in vista-cruise, then drill a hole to secure it to the throttle housing, Watch for cables on the inside, cut machine screw to lentgh, tap hole, countersink vista hole, use locktite. screw together. adjust. I ride with 4 other guys and we all have it that way.
It looks 'factory' and it works great. I use it for about 10 seconds at a time and it helps out alot.

Here is the website for the throttle rocker. http://www.throttlerocker.com
I have one on my 900RR and it's great. I only use it when cruising on the highway though. I don't use it for around town, stop and go, or hitting the twisties. Only on long, straight, open highways. It does make a difference. I picked mine up at our local Cycle Gear for about $8. For that price it's worth it to try and see if it works for you.

I picked up a "cruise control" setup from my local cycle gear. It works great. The **** flips up to lock the throttle, but it is still able to move throttle with the cruise engaged. Probably the best accessory I've bought!
