Default CE Level 3 armor?

Do any of you have much experience with armor? I'm looking for good stuff, and I know of one company claiming CE Level 3 performance (Xelement is a/the brand I see it in most, which you can find at Leatherup and other sites).

From what I can tell, it requires a 100 KN input force, rather than the lower levels (i.e. 50 KN) that the lower certification levels use to start with. In the case of back protectors, my understanding is that level 3 allows much less force to be transmitted to the wearer. I know that Alpinestars (whom I spoke with today) says they don't make anything that's CE level-3 certified/compliant.

The stuff I've seen that claims level 3 protection is apparently using armor made by Atom Armor. I can't even find them using Google or Yahoo, so that wasn't very helpful for me to know.

Does anyone know anything about this company, its level 3 protection claims, or the clothing using the armor in it? Or even have any suggestions as to where to go or whom to ask to find this stuff out? Thanks.

If anyone's interested, I found out a bit more info on the armor. YF Protector Co, Ltd is the underlying manufacturer of this Atom Armor. They're a Chinese company that lists a number of CE certificates on their website, all dated 2006. They claim to have many more than what they publish. So, perhaps this is legitimate CE Level-3 armor.

Thanks! I pulled the trigger on the Xelement CF-625 myself, which has the level-3 armor in it. I've only had it a few days, but it seems to be a reasonable choice down to ~40 degrees riding to work just before sunrise. Cooler than that and I want a sweatshirt or something underneath it. I'll have to wait for next summer to see how well it does in warm weather.
