Default CBRfairings.com review

Whelp, track days are over in my region finally, but to scratch that itch I use the scooter to commute still occasionally. I work on a military base and the guards have pestered me for too long about riding a bike with a foglight bolted on (which technically is legal in the state, and the base has no specific rules so...). To avoid losing the privilege of riding on base after I run into that General on my bike, I decided to put some street fairings on it.
I've read a lot about aftermarket companies and heard some horror stories about fit and customer service. After reading loads and filling my brain with useless information on why these guys are best I decided to pick a company that had a few good reps from guys on various CBR sites. CBRfairings.com had an American number which was a plus and after looking through their huge list went ahead and gave 'em a call. I wanted a few specific things done different which they were able to comply with.
Order went through and it took literally a week tues-tues) from my call to get to my door, pretty dang fast if you ask me. I pulled everything out and inspected everything to make sure my request were complied with, which they were, and started on the install. If you have a brain, these are pretty easy to go on, no stretching or fighting, although it is tough going from a full set that's held on by 2,4...6 dzuz, to a street set held on by countless screw and bolts. I was worried mostly about the install after reading the horror stories but I had good luck. Check em out! I thought they looked great.

^this is one of the schemes available from the site. I requested the full white tail with the grey decal like the American bikes have, And that the silver stripes on the nose be left off.

Some of these pics where to show the exact quality of them. I specifically requested the PEARL white and it turned out great. I never loose sleep over my bikes looks, but I figured if I was purchasing might as well get something I found attractive, and it does look great! I love seeing it outside our shop yard.

Default DO NOT BUY FROM CBRFAIRINGS.COM!!!!! Read This!

If you are considering ordering replacement fairings from CBRfairings.com, I reccomend that you consider using another site. I ordered my fairings on March 1, 2011 and installed them shortly after I got them. They fit great and werent too bad to put together. THE PROBLEM is that since I have installed them, almost every piece has cracked. They have cracked not only through the gelcoat, but through the graphics too. I contacted CBRfairings.com to report the problem and they opened a ticket with 540fairings.com which is their vendor. Below is the response that I got from them and now I am out $640.00 for a cracked set of fairings. I do have pictures too, but cant post for some reason.

Order Date:March 1st
Year/Model:2007 CBR 1000rr
List Pieces Damaged:Tank cover, right fairing, upper nose cowl
Message:
Hi,

On March 1, 2011 I purchased your "silver & black tribal" fairing kit
for my 2007 CBR1000(customized to silver & blue tribal.) Since having them
installed, It seems that the right fairing, upper front cowl, and the tank cover have began to
crack thru the gelcoat and the graphics. I ordered extra heat shield to
protect from any melting being done from the heat, so I know that its not
that. I talked to a painter at an autobody shop and he quoted me $200 to get
it fixed. After spending over $600 on new fairings that are supposed to be
of quality, I dont think that I should have to pay the cost for the repair.
I am wondering what you guys are willing to do to help resolve this problem.

Thanks,

Brandon Sxxxxxxx

Hello,

Thank you for the photos.
We have placed a replacement right side lower fairing into processing.
We do not have a warranty on our fairings, so the left fairing is not eligible for a free replacement.
We can however offer you a discounted quote for a replacement if you would be interested in replacing it.
We will keep you updated with your tracking information when your lower side fairing ships.

Thank you.

So what you are saying is that you are selling me a low quality fairing that you arent willing to back up? If this issue is not resolved correctly, I will slander your name everywhere that I can possibly find on the internet and with word of mouth through my bike club and others. Also, I will report you to the BBB for deceiving your customers and selling a low quality product that you advertise as a high quality product. I will do everything in my power to prevent any people from buying any fairings from your company.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck, Mine came perfect and still are?
Word of advise, Threatening and being rude doesn't get you far when you want someone to help you out.
And without the pictures it's hard to tell if the damage was caused by a bad product or an incorrect install.
