AXO KR8 leather gloves

To those not familiar:

I bought these gloves for two reasons:

1) nice price

2) CF knuckles.

These DO have a nice price, and they DO have CF knucks. And I believe they would hold up moderately well in a crash (obviously not as well as high-end gloves) but for the price, I don't think you can beat them.

First, they are a full length, leather glove with a carbon fiber knuckle protector. It also has padding on the outside of the pinky, and padding at every knuckle going up the finger and on the end towards the wrist. They are also preforated between the fingers. I'ven't been able to test out the preforation because it's like 10 degrees here but it looks like it will work well.

My main gripe is the fingertips. The seams are very rough around the edges. The way it looks like they did my glove was just press the two pieces of fabric together, sew them, and not trim the extra. While this is only cosmetic, it's still something I'd rather not see on my glove.

The second thing I noticed was the carbon fiber knuckles weren't properly finished. They have a rough texture that seems to look like someone forgot the last few coats of clear..

Overall, fantastic deal for the street rider. While I don't know much about the track, I'll tell you that the people who DO know a lot about track racing will tell you to sack up and buy better gloves. I'm not saying get the $400 dollar Dainese gloves, but definitely consider one with not only padding around the hand /wrist / fingers, but armor.

this glove gets a 7/10 for its outstanding value.
