There are places that specialize in repair of plastic bodywork.

http://melbournemotorcyclefairings.com.au/
SILVER STAR Motorbike Crash Repairs
Advanced Plastic Repair - Motorcycle Plastic Repairs

Think the last one looks promising.

Best of luck mate. I know it sucks when your baby is injured.

Contact some of the places that do this work and get a ballpark estimate. Your insurance should be willing to work with you.

If they are wanting to write off the whole bike, then somewhere in there is the option to collect the maximum value of the bike (as determined by the insurance schmucks) and keep it as well, allowing you to repair it any way you see fit.

You are the insurance company's customer. They work for you. Make sure they are cognisant of your goal here (keeping/repairing the bike).

I have it insured for 4K so I’m hoping the repairs do go over that. My insurance company has been very good so far.
