Is a cbr 125r good for my size?

Hey guys new to this forum and im not sure if this is the proper place to post this, if so my bad. Im looking to purchase a Cbr 125R mainly for the low insurance/gas costs, im not looking to go extremely fast either. However i am worried that it wont preform to well because of my height/weight. Im currently 6 feet tall, and im roughly 180lbs. I would like to hear from anyone around the same height/weight as me that owns or has used a 125R for an extended period of time and how it worked for you. Also anyone from the Lower Mainland area in B.C. on here?

I've read that the 125 can feel a little squirly in the rear when pushed in the corners with 180 pounds on it, but I haven't ridden one to experience it. Most likely due to the skinny rear tire.

Have you sat on it? Make sure you aren't too cramped on it. 6 foot tall people are not all the same either. Best thing for you to do is borrow/rent one and see how YOU like it.

I believe i can change the rear tire to a wider one if need, dont quote me on it though. Im either going with a 125r, or a 250 from either Honda, or Kawasaki. Right now im aiming towards a 125r mainly because of the cost and such.

Im 5'8 and very comfy on my 125. Weight wise im 70 kg roughly 160 Pounds and cornering has been normal i guess (Only have 1 year of experience). So just go to a local dealership and ask for a test drive.

PS had mine for 3 weeks now, and I absolutely love it! Best thing I've ever bought.

Would be an ok starter but my guess is you,ll be back trading it for at least a 400 maybe a 600 in a few months. Just a guess.

We all gotta start somewhere and any cbr is a good start :)

I'm riding a CBR125 all the time, 5ft 8" and around 75KG... love it!!!

I learnt my trade of over 900 miles on my sons CBR125... and I weighed around 15 stone (95kg ish?) and 6ft1" at the time... was fine... didn't have any problems apart from looking too big on it... bar that...

I own a cbr 125 and I bought it for the same reasons, cheap running costs.
Now after 4 months I feel that I should of bought at least a 250. The 125 is just too slow on inclines and takes too much to pass cars. It's still a good bike, I just wish it had a bit more power.
