Default Honda Motorcycle Wing Icon History?

Just curious if anyone knows where the Honda wing symbol comes from or what the history behind it is?
I know there's the goldwing cruiser bike and there's a silverwing scooter and the wing seems to be an icon for all honda bikes but anyone know any thing more about it?

Thanks

Don't know much about the wing, but the attached pic (from Honda's website) shows the wing on the sidecover of a 69 CB750K. The Goldwing didn't come out until 75 or 76, so the wing doesn't have anything to do with it. Honda also made a Silverwing Cx-500 motorcycle in the late 70's, I think, a V-twin mounted like MotoGuzzi engines and with water cooling and shaft drive. It was basically a baby Goldwing.

Here's a '64 CB72 and it had the wing back then. I'm still looking around to try to figure out what year the wing came out and what it represents.

I'm not sure which were made in the US.

Anyone have ANY knowledge/info about the Honda wing and what it means? (bump)
