Default Your bike's 'To Do' List?

Well in some parts of the country & world, the riding season is winding down (quiet Elfling, Florida prolly wouldn't survive us all in one place ). So what's on your To Do List for your bike during the colder seasons?

I'll prolly ride as much through winter as possible (my girlfriend is already slavering to buy me a winter suit). So my list right now is:
  • Fix oil leak from the water pump (hoping the new o-rings I'm waiting for does this)
  • Fix the speedometer (prolly part of the next one)
  • Either install a new wire harness or completely rehab the current one (replacement connectors where possible, heat shrink wrap, reroute and tie wrap)
  • Replace some of the fairings (right engine cover, right upper cowl and left rear)
  • Repaint (think a metallic but dunno what color yet)
  • Polish swingarm and rims (have a spare swingarm I'm working on already)
  • New LED accent kit (need more cash for a million color kit I'm eyeballing)

I am thinking about changing my chain and sprockets. I don't need to, but my chain is dark. It is no where near needing replacement, but I can't get the chain clean no matter what I use. I don't have a way to get it off, so I cant utilize kerosene.

Other than that, maybe my air filter and some other minor maintenance.

I am hoping we Philly riders get another 2 months to ride though!

I know last year, I rode up til thanksgiving, then I put the bike up for the winter.

Winter projects:
• Change fork seals/bushings
• Check valve clearance & hope for in-spec readings
• Sync throttle bodies

Im aiming to ride throughout winter so nothing to drastic.

Im going to coat anything that could be eaten by salt in a protective paint.
Looking into getting some heated grips, crash bungs and a red/white LED kit to up my visibility tenfold.

Just a few things on the list for this winter:

- strip it down to the frame
- de-tab the frame and grind all the welds smooth
- cut off stock subframe
- make new subframe to fit 03 RR tail on my 89 F1
- sandblast and paint frame
- install new tail, seat, integrated taillight
- install new front fairing and headlights
- possibly move the oil cooler depending on how the new fairing fits
- buy or fab a new gauge cluster and indicator lights, then install
- fix the side stand indicator light
- strip and repaint wheels and calipers, install new tires
- install new battery, new CCT, change all fluids and filters
- paint tank, engine and new plastics some eye-popping candy pearl colour
- new mirrors, levers, front signals
- ebay all the stock stuff I'm taking off
- listen to my gf curse herself for getting me interested in motorcycles again

I think that about covers it

Oh come on, there's plenty of room here, old people die fast!

I actually do have a to-do list- weather isn't keeping me from riding but during the week it's dark by the time we're home from work now.

-Brake pads (getting replaced this weekend)
-New windshield
-HID kit
-fender eliminator
-cowl or new rear seat

Well, I got this new radiator guard a few months back and never fitted it due to not wanting to risk even a day's ride off the road ... I took so long to get back in the saddle that nothing but nothing was going to stop me riding ... now it's Autumn, I shall fit it and then no more shall I have to dance like a sequence out of The Matrix to avoid rocks in the roads of Wales ..lol

Does anyone sell sheep guards ;-)

Hate you Jules, Post card perfect location, new bike + a radiator guard!
Next you be saying that you can have three meals a day if you wanted "Lived in a cardbard box in middle of road......"
Actually the Matrix really went for product placement with the Ducati's, even I wanted one when they roared of the back of the truck.
I'm pretty much ready to roll for this summer, my crook back is much better, been talking about a 3 day(ish) ride with a friend of mine, got friend's & rellies up to Brisbane that we can take advantage of..I mean visit, just a matter of coordinating the "when" (plus money).
