Young guy w/a super sport
ive called a few insurance companies and is pretty disappointed that they they set abnormally high insurance premiums just to stop you from getting insurance...
example 1: called a bank. when i still had m1 they told me $10,000/yr and call back when i get m2.. i have my m2 now but i didnt call back cuz i cant see much of a difference
example 2: guy laughed and told me to get a cruiser or something (didnt even give me a price)
example 3: called a motorcycle specialty company.. they told me i need to be at least 25 and with M license... (some specialty company =/)
example 4: told me i need to be license for at least 5 years to get insurance with them... might i add theyre giving my uncle $1,200/yr for his gixxer 600
and the one that grinds me gears the most.. called about 10min ago....
example 5: told me they wouldnt insure me unless im 20 (im 19) and when they do theyll charge me $14,000/yr.... and thats with bare minimum...
all these quotes was for a 600rr..
-end rant

I thought this was a dating ad from the title.
Anyways - what companies have you called?
Call the big ones - Progressive, Geico, Statefarm, Allstate etc.
If you finance the bike you'll be required to maintain full coverage.
You could get a liability only policy.
Statefarm quoted me by far the lowest rate but I think they don't insure young drivers, but its worth a shot. (250something / year full coverage 300 / 500 / 300)
But I also have 3 other policies with them.
Also make sure you tell them you've taken an MSF class, and just give them a bike info. You don't have to declare it a supersport or anything crazy.
Its a 599cc Honda CBR RR

I know what ur going thru...This is because you are trying to get full coverage. Try liability (one way) that is if you are not financing your bike. Then make sure you have health insurance, that is for the worst case scenario if you have an accident that is your fault. This is the only way...that I can afford to buy motorcycle insurance so I can register the bike, then health insurance from family group plan for the worst case scenario. Anyone here in the forum have any better suggestions?

liability is the way to go. I screwed up royally when I first started my insurance. I"m 22 with 2 speeding tickets. Anyways. It was 160 a month. and like 240 to start. well needless to say I started and paid the first month when it came up. Got to realizing that I felt retarded for paying so much insurance on a bike that if I drop it, having full insurance they would probably just total it instead of trying to deal with it anyways. I switched to liability. It would have been around 30 dollars or so a month maybe but they credited me what I paid to start the full insurance and now I'm paid in full!
