Default Yay or Nay?

Been in the market for a new car, specifically a BMW and came across this. 2001 BMW 330ci It's in my price range, a little high in the mileage department but with everything listed the price seems fair. I'm just worried that with what has been done the car has been abused, what's the general consensus?

If you have a local, trusted mechanic, ask the guy if your mechanic can check it out. A BMW of that age and mileage, many things could be worn or broken. BMW parts/labor are not cheap either.

My brother was also just looking at this car. Ended up buying an 05 Infiniti G35 with less miles for about the same price.

I told my mom not to buy her BMW..she didn't listen, and now she calls me crying all the time telling me that it's falling apart and costs too much to repair.

I do all repairs myself so the cost of parts and labor isn't an issue. My past 3 cars have been an old Audi, a newer Audi, and now an old Mercedes so I know my way around expensive dealership bullcrap and finicky german engineering. But for someone to replace the clutch at 100k miles makes me think that they beat on it terribly or have more money than they know what to do with. That's usually a case of "uh oh I killed it" or "I'm putting some serious power down and I need a better clutch." I'll keep shopping, hopefully I start finding them cheaper but people around here act like they never depreciate.

Plus BMW's are know for their AC going out, particularly the compressor, unless you don't care about AC then you don't have to worry bout that.

Hey man a good site I found for searching out used cars is www.autotempest.com
Gives you results from eBay craigslist autotrader and others. I found it a lot easier than searching out every site when I was in the market last spring.
Good luck on the car hunt.

11grand seems a bit much for a 12 year old car.

I'd offer 7,500. And let him talk you back up to 8 grand.
