What are the chances. Bumps and potholes shook the bar I am holding out of the tool wrap and shorted over both poles of the battery mid ride 🙃. Thought it was some serious fault and also a bit of a spooky one to happen on the road. Zapped all juice out the battery and had to bump start it. Said bar is currently still in orbit!

That is such bad luck, glad it didn’t cause a crash.

 

WOW that's NUTS, you're real lucky that didn't do worse damage shorting your electrics like that could of blown all kinds of things had it had a more permanent grip across those terminals you could have been looking at reg rec maybe melted wires in the harness burnt out geny. Always make sure you have the earth and live rubber covers over your terminals buddy better to be safe than sorry.

 

Cheers lads! 100% about covering the terminals on battery. There is a flap thing but it’s a 23 year old bike and the clips are a bit pants. Genuinely thought it was a battery bracket or something initially and after crying (for only 20 minutes) I wiggled it and it sparked and moved 😡 😂. Oh well live and learn and a good story for the grandkids!

After I got her running again I managed a good 40 miles or so and stopped for a coke so the bike seems to be fine .
