WTF
No wonder riding is so dangerous, our automobile counterparts don't view us as road worthy. I am very aware you can turn on red but you still have to make a complete stop and make sure it is clear. I pull up to a red light, stopped, made sure it was clear and right as I am about to go this guy pulls around me and cuts me off about making me wreck. Needless to say I was pissed and didn't keep my cool. I nailed it and caught up to him and let him know just how I felt with sign language. Not very smart on my part since I am on a bike. Luckily he wasn't a complete phsycho and didn't swerve at me. It just pisses me off when people just totally disregard our right to ride...safely.
Welcome to the forum and riding
Yea, shyt like this happens. You have to ride defensively, try to block the lane when making your turns. I've had people trying to squeeze by in the tightest places and damn near take my leg off. So unless the lane next to me is open, or there is shyt (i.e. oil, gravel, debris) I try to keep the bike in the middle of lane when making turns from a stop or very slow speed. The scary ones are when you are making a left turn and the cager is dying to get by and damn near runs up on the curb trying to squeeze by on the right. I'm like dude just chill you'll get there. Most of the time if I see someone who looks anxious I just move out of the way. I'm always checkin' my mirrors at lights.

I watched a buddy get hit while making a left in the Czech Republic. The guy passed in the oncoming traffic lane, and it was an illegal pass. One, because it was through an intersection, and Two, because the centerline was solid. The cops got there, and blamed it on my friend because he is American.
One time in Seattle, I was riding my 1kRR in the left of 2 lanes going my direction (4 lane road) and im just cruising, around 35-45 mph and im in 1st gear, so im somewhere around 6-8k rpm, fairly loud enough to be heard, right? and furthermore, mine's red, so it stands out just that much more. anyway, i see out of the corner of my right eye that this Lexus is doing a lane change right into me. lucky I saw it and got out of the way, but still, you'd think the damn person would have noticed something like that. This is why I am a firm believer in D&D exhausts, haha!
Anyway, watch out, be careful, and anticipate butthooks out there!

I have no patience for stupid drivers. It is rediculous how moronic people can be. I don't know how many times someone has pulled out in front of me when they could've waited 2 seconds since there was no traffic behind me.
A couple weeks ago i was running the speedlimit on a 55 mph 2 lane road, when some lady pulled out in front of me making me have to swerve into the oncoming lane to avoid eating the back of her car. Luckily there was no traffic coming the other way. Once i swerved around and slowed down i yelled some expletives and kicked her door and yelled that she almost killed me. Hopefully that will stick in her mind and she'll learn to look next time instead of just assuming it is clear.
