Default Wow... Crazily ironic story (not in a good way)

I just saw this on MSN thought I'd share. I like the son's outlook on the situation. I definitely wonder if he had ANY experience at all on a bike though... Either way, bummer.

Technically that's not irony. Irony is exactly the opposite of what you're expecting to happen, and she was expecting that to happen for 38 years, hence why she never allowed him to get one.

Coincidental or even prophetic, but not ironic.

Either way, that really blows.

Actually I was thinking it was more of ironic for HIM... I'm pretty sure he wasn't expecting that...

... but 100% agreement on the fact that it blows.

Some people have crazy irony in their lives. With some people it's little things their entire lives, with others it's how they die. When God call you home, there's no negotiating

Tragic and not the first time an older aspiring rider jumps up a new machine
only to get thrown....... in this case with fatal consequences. A complete tragedy
for the poor mans wife, family & friends left behind .

IMO

Young or old if you are new to or have been off a bike for an extended period
of time - take some basic rider classes or courses - it may save your life.

Very tragic. After not being on a bike for over ten years, I can agree, a riders course would help. While waiting on mine, I started putting around the yard, then slow back roads with no traffic. Just to get used to the feel again.
Sad he waited his whole life and the joy was over so fast.

How sad this is to read and even his wife had some "intuition" so to speak. I know that before I hopped back on a bike I made sure I had a life insurance policy for my wife and daughter so that if something were to happen everything would be paid off and she wouldn't have to work again if she didn't want. Such a huge piece of mind when riding. We never know when it's our time, I feel bad for his wife and community. Glad the son saw a somewhat positive in such a tragic situation.

He should have bought a honda. Better handling and ground clearance.
