Default Winter weather vs. your job

So for the people that work in the North east and New york Metro area, My company has a delayed opening, so we should arrive at 12. But my whole problem is, I have a matrix that is terrible in the snow and my drive way hasn't been cleared out yet, my road still has about 3 inches of packed snow. I've gotten into about 2 accidents in the snow before, and I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to make it into work today. I called my boss and he said that I have to go in because there are 3 call outs and that I am the only on from the morning shift that has to show up. I don't want to take any chances. What would you do?

Tell him it's too dangerous and you can't get there ! Let him risk his own neck the fool.

They can't make you risk your life ! I'd stay put. Up here there's States of Emergency
in MA NH & ME ......... meaning we are not supposed to be out driving period

Packed snow should be manageable with a front wheel drive vehicle if you take it very easy accelerating and stopping, steer into the slide if your tires break free, etc. But just like on a bike, it's the other fools on the road you have to worry about. It seems people have AWD and think that this will somehow improve their vehicle's braking ability. But if you really don't think you're going to make it, then don't go. Tell your boss you won't be doing him any good stuck in a snow drift.

I'm on a very short dead end street that hasn't seen a plow since yesterday afternoon around 5, so my car isn't going anywhere for a while. But I do have a subway station two blocks away so that helps.

public transportation isn't running either, and the store managers cant even make it into work, so I don't feel so bad. But i have a front wheel drive car with no rear breaks. So i'm nervous as it is to make it to work. but since NJ is still in a state of emergency, they can't fire us for not leaving our house.
