my girlfriend just started screaming at me because I have to drive my car to work tomorrow due to the inbound rain so now I have to go out and find someplace with enough to get her through the weekend

That really really sucks. Makes me glad i have 150gallons of biodiesel stored in my shed incase this ever happens. I only have around 40gal of gasoline with additive since it doesn't last as long, but i'll use it before i let it go bad.
Hope you guys get the pumps flowing soon.

the crazy thing about this to me is that where i live gas is cheaper than it has been in months and months. I truly do not understand how the hell this all happened. Why the hell cant the fuel trucks just drive yall some damn gas to carry you through? Insanity...
We've been running out of gas in north alabama too. I drove to tennessee one day and counted 28~something gas stations that were out of gas that night. It's ridiculous. I haven't resorted to waiting in line for gas yet but I have bought it for over $5.00 a gallon once
Seems to be getting worse. I was out tonight and it was almost barren out there on the highways ... and that's on a Saturday night!! There where almost no gas stations left with anything but diesel and I even saw some stations that had no gas but with cars lined up waiting for the next delivery.
Only good thing out of this is that I noticed people are driving much saner in order to try and save every drop of fuel. There wasn't the usual I285 speedway races and no one seemed to try and race me on my bike at every other light which was a relief.

Ug, this sucks. Not willing to put anything but super in the bike but have a shade under a gallon left and haven't seen a station within 20 miles that has any.
What's crazy is that Ike hit Beaumont pretty hard and a lot of places still don't have electricity. I also know that all the refineries in this are are still shut down or they are only runing maybe 50%. I work for an engineering firm and design the control systems for refineries and we have a bunch of work coming up because of Ike. Most refineries had roughly between 3ft and 15ft of water in them. Anyways, I don't think there has been a shortage of gas in this area. I know that I haven't had any problem with getting gas except for when most places didn't have power but then I just went over to Louisiana and filled up and picked up beer and ice while I was there. If it wasn't for the beer and Bar-B-Q, I don't know I would have made it through the hurricane...lol
