Always wear my gear, including proper pants (textile or leather). If others want to go gearless then by all means, let them but I personally hate paying increased insurance rates because of it.

I have to admit I ride in jeans a lot (which I know is bad) but I also dont have any pants yet. I have been looking into the kevlar reinforced jeans that they advertise. But Daffy is right, those who do probably cant answer you as they dont ride anymore.

since when did it become a social taboo for riding in anything except full leathers everywhere you go.
jeans are better then shorts, and kevalr is better then denim, and leather is better then kevlar . it would be nice to have special riding pants but the fact is , IT IS OK to ride in jeans.

sorry telgren i wasnt trying to single you out , just when i read this it makes me think of all the poeple who are anti anything except full protective gear everywhere, anytime. just really annoys me. there is nothing irresponsible about riding in denim jeans

Ya, Cotton (jeans) is better then polyester or nothing at all. Helmet, riding gloves, and a riding jacket shouldn't ever be left at home too.

It is easy to pick out amature riders on hot days, because they aren't wearing any of the above
