Mine's #6, but a book I read made an interesting point about breed popularity: The more popular a certain breed is, the more likely it is being bred by backyard breeders and puppy mills that don't care too much about upholding the true characteristics of the breed.

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with a Boxer, Golden Retriever, or Lab. Of course, any dog can be a bad dog if they don't get the proper training and input from the owner.

i used to have a couple pits...they arent even recognized with the AKC:(
