RE: Where do you buy OEM paint?
Go to your local dealer and get the paint code....not the honda code but there is a book with a cross-reference PPG paint code the body-shops can use to match it exactly....
i used to work as a honda M/C dealership and honda had a cros reference book with these codes...I would think it is still published

I had a painter redo my front fairing, said he could match exactly. Apparently he got the code for "Tahitian Candy Blue", but as you can see, it doesn't match at all. That may be his fault, and you may have perfect success, but if I had to do it again, I would spend the extra bucks and get Color Rite. I'm way too nice, and didn't make him repaint, but I have been considering a custom paint job anyway. Just food for thought.

RE: Where do you buy OEM paint?
I am having my bike painted right now. What I did was fairly cheap and simple: I looked through cars on dealer websites until I found my color. It was a honda color, so I went on yahoo and looked up "honda color codes" and looked up the name that I had found, wrote down the code. I then took this code to a local auto paint store and gave them the code, they looked it up andfound exactlywhat I needed(1 pt. of paint, hardener, reducer, and 1 qt. of clear for up to 3 coats) for only $146.52. The reason for this price was cause I got a friend of mine to let me purchase under his bussiness account for a discount.
This way is cheaper andmore effective if you are flexible with what you're looking for and take your own paint code up to the store. Hope I could help.
