Default when you buy or bought your bike..

where did you look? how did you find it? was it local or did you travel?

i always turn to ebay and craigslist.. seems like a waste of time weeding out the junk though here in good old allentown, pennsylvania..

i would love to fly somewhere (wherever the best deals for bikes are??) then ride it back over the course of a weekend or a few days.. thats something i always wanted to do. obviously, its just difficult to inspect the bike before purchasing..

has anyone done that?

I found my bike on Craigslist. Went and looked at it twice before I decided to buy.

Also local forums are a pretty good place to look.

craigslist app on my Droid - searched multiple regions all at once for me. After a few weeks of looking, I found what I was looking for.

somehow the wife let me do it? That was the really weird part.
