Hi guys...(and gals apparently) I was wondering if there was any kind of rule of thumb as far as determining which models and years have interchangable parts. If not, I am betting that there is a goto guy or gal with that knowledge.

 

Thats a very broad question. Alot of stuff can be made to work on your bike. Z made a 600rr fender fit his 929. So anything is possible it just may take a bit of modification.

 

I guess I was thinking along the lines of motor and transmissions and make it go components. I am just now realizing all the stuff you folks do with your bikes. Kind of an old timer... be patient with me

 

I think you need to narrow down what bikes you are specifically looking to interchange parts on.

Are you looking to put stuff from a 1000RR on a 600RR or are you looking to put 1000RR stuff on a 1985 CBR Hurricane. Let us know what models you are working with and people can probably help better.

 

Oh, by the way - Welcome. And just bear in mind that "Old" is a relative term around here. A lot of these guys didn't make the cut to vote for the 08 election - just the lay of the land with this style of bike.

 

My bike is a 97 600 f3.
I was probably voting when a lot of these guys were in diapers. teetering on forty. Joined the infantry at 38. but that has enabled my ownership of multiple bikes once again. Done kickin my own butt, time to have some fun =D

 

anything can be made to fit anything....

i'm going to put a gixxer '09 1k front end on my 954 this fall. next weekend, i'm putting a VFR 800 swingarm on my bike with a 17x7 honda civic rim.



it just depends on how far you're willing to go and what exactly you want. but thats why we're here, we (as a whole) can help you do anything you conjure up
