I doubt I would buy a Toyota. Toyota doesn't really make cars that handle very well and they just started racing. Honda on the other hand has been racing forever. Does Nissan even participate in racing? The thing with sportbikes is that people buy them to go fast and I don't really see Nissan and Toyota as go fast, high performance companies.

What would the S stand for int he SRD? And yeah the 60Z and 100Z would be hot.

Toyota would be called the 2 Runner SRD (600cc) and the 2 Runner Limited (1000cc)
Nissan would have be called the 60Z and the 100Z

Don't get mad at me, but I think sportbikes are going to lose market share. The whole plastic wrapped goofy graphics, expensive to repair thing is kinda dumb. Sportbikes are really racebikes, but not the best of streetbikes (let the flaming begin). After all, people by trucks because they are usable, small convertibles like the miata, s2000, mr2 are kinda rare compared to SUVs and such.
Toyota and nissan would come out with a Standard or a Motard before anything else. To sell sportbikes, you gotta race and win. They won't. Crusiers and touring bikes are dominated by the well entrnched companies. Dirtbikes are raced. That leaves standards and motards. More usable, good on gas, no expensive fairings, performance is secondary to reliability and price.
From there it is a question of price and financing. Anyone will buy one if thats what they can afford. Other countries buy those hyosungs and other korean pieces of junk. they would fall over backwards to buy a Toyota at a reasonble price.
So...no sportbikes for these companies...maybe standards or motards.
