Default What is a good pro race to go see in US?

Hey all. I'm going to buy some tickets for my son and I to a pro race. It's his b-day in March and he'll b 18. We are both into bikes (I have a cbr900).We have never been to a pro race. It can be anytime anywhere as long as it's in the US. It would be nice to see pros like lorenzo and rossi, etc. also. Please give me a site , any details, etc. Thanks a ton

Awesome gift for your son, I'd love to go to a race personally.

I checked the motogp website (motogp.com · Attack Performance returns for US MotoGP? rounds with Young) for you and it looks like there will be three events in the USA this year.

1. http://www.motogp.com/en/events/Americas/2013 in Austin, Texas on April 21st
2. http://www.motogp.com/en/events/United%20States/2013 in Monterey, California on July 21st
3. http://www.motogp.com/en/events/Indianapolis/2013 in Indianapolis, Florida on August 18th

Good luck, I'm sure you guys will have a blast!

All three would be awesome. I have seen the MotoGP race in San Marino three times and Mugello once. Each race was unique and a blast!

If you go to the Austin, Texas GP race, post up.
IDoDirt, myself and a few others plan on hooking up.
Whichever you choose, get hotel early!
50-100 thousand fans sell the town out way in advance.

AMA at Road America is a great time. Of course I'm biased because I'm local (ish). I've never seen a pro or semi-pro race anywhere else, unless you count the drag strip.

Yeah, that was my first choice cause I have never been to Texas and thought it would be cool to see. Heard it's beautiful. Unfortunately, i was looking at flight prices and it seems like it's close to $1000 probably cause it's around spring break. Ugh! I'm thinking Indy now and looking into that. Hotel and flight was around $600 (not including the race tix). Much better

Got the tix for the indy gp in august. J stand section 28 row jj (uppermost seats at a corner). Very good seats. Read a lot of good reviews on that stand from people who have been there.
