What do you guys do about the SWEAT?

As you may know I'm getting ready to get my first bike and was wondering you guys that wear the full gear in the summer time. Is the gear specially made so that it breathes and its not as hot as it looks or do you just deal with the heat and the sweat? Seems like having gloves, jacket, and thick pants on would be hot as hell in 90 degree weather.

get a mesh or textile jacket for the summer, they breathe better. It only gets hot when you stop. Then you just lift your visor. :icon_razz:

Beat me too it. Textile is the way to go if its hot out. it doesn't offer the same protection as leather, but its a lot better than not wearing a jacket at all.

Also, buy warm weather gloves. They will have cooling holes throughout the gloves, and it helps a lot.

certain brand boots will also have cooling holes that can be closed when its cold or raining.

And, helmet choice is pretty big here too. Most helmets have cooling holes in them, but only a few work like they are suppose to. My Arai works well, but even my new hjc works pretty good too.

Hey Hurricane, your sig looks very similar to mine... I need to go back there one day soon.

From my observations while riding home from work yesterday afternoon it seems that the overwhelming majority of riders deal with sweat by wearing T-shirts and/or shorts. I counted 22 other bikes (including one scooter) and 23 riders. None of them had any sort of jacket on. One guy had what looked like pair of coveralls on from just leaving work.

I wear a textile jacket, blue jeans and gloves. I remove the jacket liner when the temp is over 35F degrees. It's not too bad if I unzip all of the vents, as long as I am moving.

that right there is funny. Man I wish my wit was better this morning.

The funny part. One of my fellow riders fits that to a T. He wears shorts, t-shirt.... and wait for it......... sandals when its hot. I harrass him a bit, but its his skin, not mine.
