Went to my first Harley Davidson Store/Dealer

RE: Went to my first Harley Davidson Store/Dealer
I go every once in a while, the weight of them cracks me up, but I do kinda want one, just maybe the little 883. As it stands, I almost never wash my CBR, but I ride it fairly often (2006 with 11000+ miles), there is starting to be alot of corrosion. If I bought a Harley, I would have to polish it constantly ( I live a mile from the beach) or else it all the chrome would pit and flake off.
What I really want is this:

Believe me in Milwaukee everyone and their mother owns a Harley, I'm the one with the open mind getting a bike not made by them.
But in all honesty I really don't hate them its just you ride what you wanna ride and for me thats a sportbike, when the day comes where I can't stand the back pain (when I'm old) I'll buy an enduro....hehehe

My wife owned a 883. I upgraded it to the 1200 for her, then I let her ride my old CB. Sold her Harley, and got her on a YZF. Then I bought my CBR, sold her YZF, and bought her a CBR600.
My mother in-law rides a soft tail. When ever we go out there and it's nice, I snag the keys and go riding for awhile. I just like riding, but I don't see myself ever paying for that much for a noise maker. If I was going to spend that much, I'd get an early 80's goldwing, get it naked and slap on a supercharger.
The one good thing I can think about Harley's, is that they are the SB Chevy of the motorcycle world. No matter what year, most of the parts swap.

The Harley riders I know are really cool guys. They do their thing and I do mine, but there's no disrespect.
I've gotten more B.S. from GSXR riders who think Hondas are soft, and squids who insist that a 600 is a girl bike.
And besides, I think the new Fat Bob is a sweet looking bike

I would like to ride one because I never have, but I wouldn't want to own one because they don't do the things I want to do on a bike. My friend has one, and is anxious to ride mine...kind of a trade off ride. I may take him up on it someday.

My Dad was kind of trying (He didnt putin a lot of effort) to sell his bike this winter. Well this guy we both know who has a sport bike was looking into getting a cruiser. So hetook my dads bike out for a test ride. About two hours later he came back and said he will just stick with sport bikes. He said it just wasnt him. And the bike cant do anything that his sport bike can do.
