ha! i'd steer clear, brother. thats what i do, HVAC. unless you like 120+ degree attics where you're balancing on trusses while trying to put together an airhandler that you had to take completely apart JUST to get it IN the attic, or being in crawl spaces where your only able to crawl on your stomach and taking a breath makes space even tighter........and you're down there so long w/ barely and light that you're begining to name the moon crickets, bugs, snakes.

sorry to hear about the bad news thirdgen, but you have a good attitude, ecerything happens for a reason, hope you find something better!
I remember around this time last year we had a bunch of job postings on our college department's job wall. Currently, there are 4 postings, only 1 which has been posted recently. I'll probably be working at Bestbuy or Walmart Distribution center after I graduate from college. I'm thinking about tranfering to LSU to have more degree options but that will mean me losing a $1600 semester scholarship and probably 1 of my grants which is $500 a semester.
Sorry to hear this Jared, but i know that you are going to get a better job soon, you are very qualified onyour fieldso cheer up and give it all you got, like you always do...

Thanks guys.... yea I'm gonna spend the next couple days thinking long and hard about what I'm going to do. I've gotta decide now, cuz if I go back to school I'm just going to have to get a job to pay the bills. Workign on cars (read: flat rate)and going to school would be damn near impossible... I was working 8 am to 7 pm every day M-F just to be able to make a 40 hour paycheck for the week... I don't think I could add school on top of that! I'll figure something out though... I always do
But anyways, today I went and picked up my toolbox and the rest of my stuff I had there. Now it's just chilling in the back yard until I figure out what I'm gonna do. But hey now I have all the tools I ever wanted here at home to use! Maybe I'll just do sidework in the driveway to get me by, lol

That reminds me.... gotta go buy a tarp to put over this thing [:-]

Wow...nice toolbox...I'd get that thing inside though.
"My dad never went to college and it's haunted him his whole life" I feel sorry for your father feeling that way. It is a shame. I personally only took a few programming classes. College is not really for me. College is really good for a lot of people and serves its purpose, but it is not a requirement for being successful in life.
EDIT: I certainly do applaud you for going back, though. It really does help give a stepping stone for changing careers. Plus the feeling of accomplishment trumps it all.
