Weaving Exercise
Well, i've been practicing for my 2nd try at getting my license, and does anyone know how far the cones are spaced apart specificaly for the weaving part of the test? I'm taking the test here in illinois. I've been practicing in a church parking lot and i can weave 1 foot to the left and 1 foot to the right of the line inbettween the spaces, so i think i'm pretty well off. I keep pushing that line out inch by inch, but I pretty maxxed out myself...

Call your local DMV, they will know.

RE: Weaving Exercise
See here, they have a straight and staggered cone weave. There they are 10-12 feet apart, depending on the weave, but good luck

RE: Weaving Exercise
Road tests in Wisconsin are on-road. Including a u-turn on a residential neighborhood street. This street is only large enough to allow one car through if a car is parked at the curb. I did mine with snow spilling over the curb into the street, it was so tight I scraped snow on one-side and the other.
The trick to cones, go through them slower. |
RE: Weaving Exercise
In Michigan the cones are 15 ft apart with a 3 foot offset/stagger. The cones are NOT in a straight line.

RE: Weaving Exercise
I think the cones are spread aparttwo parking spaces wide. Good luck with the test.;)

RE: Weaving Exercise
i heard the test is damn near impossible, with the circle you have to make...

RE: Weaving Exercise
I took the MSF class... way better than taking the actual drivers test... screw that bitch! I'd rather take a weekend off of work and just jam that crap out on someone else's bike

RE: Weaving Exercise
The test is cakewalk, practice doing u-turns. You should be able to do one on an average 2-lane road without hitting sides. 15' apart 3' offset.
