Default wearing boots

Ok perhaps this is a retarded question but when you wear your boots do you wear them over or under your jeans? I know when people wear leathers they have the boots over their pants. /shrug

Depends on the weather, jeans out means a bit more cool air can get up my legs, opposite for winter..
But I always wear boots riding.

My brother lives in Phoenix where it's hot as F#&* and he wears his jeans over his boots. Me personally, I always wear my leather pants under the boots, even when we are close to Phoenix temps here in SoCal. I don't ride with anything less than full gear!

Yea I can understand pants tucked in when you're wearing leather because it's so tight, but jeans are another story. I guess I don't know, I wore my jeans over my boots yesterday. Oh by the way I already trashed one of them. It kept catching on the corner of the stupid leg protector or whatever you call it. The part of the rearset that protects your leg, the triangle thing. So first day out and my boot is already coming apart that sucks. Not to mention I almost dropped it a few times. When I came to a stop it would get stuck and I almost fell over! hahahaha Luckily I was able to lean the bike a little the other way quick enough so I got my other foot down while I freed my other foot.

Question really isn't retarded, it really boils down to what type of boots you are wearing, as well as the rest of your gear. There are really two different categories of boots, racing boots, like sidi's corsa's or alpine star smx are designed to be worn with the pants tucked in, more specifically leathers or textile riding pants. This type of boot goes up over your calf and the tops can been too wide to fit most pants over them; although i have seen a few people with jeans worn over there corsa's. IMO, would look kind of silly to tuck in your jeans....the other type is more of a all around boot, like my icon motorheads, i really don't think you could tuck any pant into them, unless you have really skinny legs.....a word of advice, racing boots are not meant for walking around, sure you can a bit, but think ski boot. The soles and the ankles are very stiff and making walking any distant a new experience in awkwardness, and even painful....if you can swing it, have a pair of each.

pants are supposed to tuck under boots...but mang...if i'm wearing jeans...anything other than my old jordache...it's going to ride up in a fall...and also...jeans don't protect much at all...so either way i'm screwed! so for the 'looks' factor, i wear pants over jeans...

Anyone have any advice for how to fix my boots where they are coming apart? Is there some sort of tape or something that I can use? I mean for $300 I really don't want to trash them after 2-3 rides.

I think I'll eventually end up gettin a two piece suit and then I'll tuck the pants in, but until then I'll keep my jeans over.
