VW's Audi Division buys Ducati
Not sure how I feel about that. Guessing that now more Audi drivers are going to get bikes, just because it's Audi owned. Do you think that's gonna drop Ducati's skyrocket prices or raise? I also guess that might make it easier and cheaper for parts as I imagine Audi will try to expand it since so few people ride Ducati
I'm not too sure about it either. I was just thinking, it's well known Ducati doesn't have a huge market in US except for those few loyal owners/collectors willing to spend a few extra bucks for the name. With that said, Audi has a pretty big market here, I see tons and tons of Audis driving around, so I figure if they drop some pricing (maybe not) and market some out here, they'll make a little impact in US. I'm no expert on this stuff by ANY means, but that's just my 2 cents. Why buy a company if you don't wanna expand it and make a penny?
of course, lets remember that ducati sold streetbikes to build racebikes - so now they will have a bigger budget for racing - so they may be better off next year in GP - especially now that audi will probably make them consent to the GP rules for next year
It'll be interesting to see where Ducati goes now. They already have some pretty clever engineering, and clever engineering is what Germans are known for.
no, they don't. not really. id still rather be on my fighter any day of the week.
well okay, it was pretty entertaining to watch on topgear - i guess that means something then
look. VW didn't change audi when they bought it. the bentleys aren't all cleverly designed now and they're owned by VW. it's not as if that ducati didn't allow anyone outside of italy to ever engineer any part of their bikes, but now they will. they're already pretty cleverly engineered. the panigale is pretty trick
