i've got a friend wanting to buy a bike off of ebay. it has a salvage title and the seller's story is that he bought it with 35 miles. someone had bought it, drove it once and dropped it in the driveway. it supposedly cracked the fairing, scuffed the brake pedal and foot peg and the insurance company totaled it. i've seen bikes totalled for appearance damage, but extensive appearance damage. not sure if i buy this guy's story???

does anyone have a way to run a vin history on a bike, i work at a car dealership but our system will not recognize a bike vin, which amazes me.

any help or opinions will be appreciated.

 

get the name of the insurance company that totaled it and call them, tell them that you are looking to buy the bike but you would like to get some info on the claim, if you can't get any info i'd pass. i ran the vin go to the other topic

 

It sucks that we don't have a bikefax like carfax....

As far as I know... no one offers VIN check for bikes.

I just emailed CARFAX and asked them wtf... are they, or is anyone going to provide this service for motorcycles.

 

DON, some do come back, most hondas don't, but i can get some of the other rice bikes

 

i got ride4sport's vin he sent me, NOT GOOD!
