Default Uh oh, puppy... Part Deux?!?!?

Yuen is dangerous when she wants something. She wanted something to keep Kai company, another animal that he can play with. She tried to rescue a cat. But apparently the rescue organizations don't need anyone to help rescue kitties, never contacting her back (even when she followed up with them). Or turning us down because Kai wasn't neutered YET (so a dog has to be neutered to adopt a cat?!?).

Yuen met some people walking their Shiba Inu puppy. We all went to the dog park and chilled after at the house. That was her last straw, the final push off the cliff into "**** it! Plan B!".

given the amount of public funding most of the animal shelters do get, you would expect they would be chomping at the bit to give animals away to homes that want them - seems like that's thier charter, right?

I think the simpler solution is that the administrators of these places have the cushiest government jobs out there, as long as they don't really mind the amount of animals they have to euthanize. If they run their usually underfunded departments as lean as possible (while of course collecting their own paycheck from the city) - meaning soliciting volunteer help, public food drive donations and such, and they still don't find a home for a large percentage of the animals they take in - who's gonna fire em? Strictly from a bottom-line standpoint, to a city/parish(county)/state budget only looks at numbers.

Well they almost made Yuen cry. Completely unacceptable. Not when there are breeders within a 2 hour drive from us and we have cash.

We went to a breeder today just to walk around, see the pups and consider getting one in the future. Our resolve didn't last 3 steps past the door

Right now Kia is sleeping off the ride so the photo shoot will have to wait. 8 weeks and 8 lbs. Back to house training

I wouldn't mind getting another dawg, but Roxie, the current Dog ruler of our house won't let it happen. Plus I have enough trouble fighting for bed space as it is.
Nice looking pup.

My dogs like to hop in the bed at night, but I make them get down. If you continue to let them in the bed they will be hard to break but after about 1 week the 3 year old boxer I got wont hop on the bed anymore...my 6mo pup is a different story...she still tried to sneak in the bed...

Cute pup Kuroshio. I have always loved that breed but I dont like cleaning up dog hair so I try to stick to the short haired dogs.

Also i cant believe they wouldnt let you adopt that cat...I introduced my cat to my old Doberman when he was 2 years old and just before he was neutered. He took about 2 days to get use to it where I could leave him alone with the cat. My boxer when I got her at age 3 she had never been around cats and I never once had to worry about her. She chased the cat the first day and then the little sucker Hissed and thats all it took lol.

But I think your dog will have alot more fun with another dog in the house. I now have 2 cats and 2 dogs and I think the animals are just happier with another buddy to play with.
