Got arrested when I was 17 for "popping wheelies", exhibition of acceleration, wreckless driving, and public endangerment. Long story short, I went to jail for the night, paid my "popping wheelie" ticket and the rest was dropped. (Was actually a wreckless driving but said "popping wheelies" on the court docket).

Riding with a friend, light turned yellow, dropped a gear, popped it up,(so did my friend) rode it through the light. My friend riding with me booked it, never got caught. I pulled over. Long story short...

That was about 10 years ago.

I'll play...

In my car:

Speeding ticket for 51 in a 35 coming down a hill. I had just crested the hill so I know I was going a bit fast going down, but she was hiding on a small side street.

Speeding Ticket for 56 in a 40. I didn't even see the cop. I stopped at a light and he blipped me. Then I saw the lights in my rear view.

On the bike:

Riding on the shoulder.

When I first started commuting to work, I was still working out the kinks on what I should and shouldn't be doing. Since we can split lanes here, and I've watched hundreds of bikes do it, I was splitting on the shoulder past stopped traffic in the carpool lane.

Where I got stopped, the double yellow stops, but there's a solid white line, and a wall that separates the carpool lane and the main part of the freeway. Apparently crossing that white is considered riding on the shoulder. That ticket hurt, but I took it and paid it. I didn't know the legalities, but I knew I shouldn't be on the shoulder.

[QUOTE=dveldtf4i;1106826]

Splitting lane? Depending on your State traffic law, you are not suppose to split lane just to get ahead...you have the right to split lane to avoid hazardous conditions...but many rider does it..but cops can write your up for splitting lane without the need to...
