Tickets
Do you guys ever fight the tickets you get?
Like today i got one for following too closely, which really wasn't my fault, as a car in the lane next to me pulled into my lane in front of me to make room for a semi getting of a ramp. The cop also said that he had me going 85 in a 55 but he was cutting me a break. That violation he had crossed out on teh ticket. Could he bring it up if i went to court to fight this one? the ticket is a $103 a good chunk of change. Just wanted to hear some opinions |
RE: Tickets
He pretty much cut you a "break" because he's hoping you'll feel grateful and decide not to go to court. I would say go to court, fight it, or take probation if your record is clean. |
RE: Tickets
wow 103.. THATS IT .... dude don't fight that that is a break in itself.
I was going 49 in a 25 and i got a 170 dollers ticket.. Went to court and they gave me a deal 50 dollers.. thats all i paid but ur LUCKYYY |
RE: Tickets
i think he is saying he wasnt speeding, and the ticket is just for following too closely. if it wasnt your fault for driving that close i would fight it, just dont say "it wasnt my fault" in the court room. dont know how you can prove that though, it will be a tough one.

RE: Tickets
I don't fight tickets unless they are honestly incorrect, maybe if I got a ticket for speeding when I wasn't or something but otherwise I take responsibility for my actions and deal with the consequences
imho the law is the law, if you break it your subject to the corresponding penalties I've got friends that will fight a speeding ticket on stupid stuff like an error on some irrelevant part of the ticket and get away with it, that just seems childish to me and they always seem to take it as being conned out of their money rather than a result of their own negligence for the law don't get me wrong I speed all the time but when I get caught I pay the fine |
