Default Thompson sub machine gun for my 9yr old son

My son has been asking me lately to make him a toy gun after seeing his cousin's home made piece of shaped wood with a steel tube on it.. Well, I couldn't help myself and so far have come up with this unfinished little project. All from scrap at work. I've just lined up the parts on the bench for a photo but you get the idea. What do you think? Hope the cops dont cruise past as he's playing with his "toy" gun.

pretty koo, if i was you i'd paint the tip orange just to be safe. Depending on where he'll be using it at. you should rig it up to shoot marshmallows or something. lol

even if he doesn't like the orange tip...you are better safe than sorry! Otherwise that is a sweet project! I'd love to see it complete.

Looks bada$$. I would 100% get a orange tip if your in any type of area where a cop may see it. Be sure your son knows to listen to the cop just in case. Ive heard of a few cases of kids being shot playing with toy guns. Just google it. Plenty of stuff comes up.

Still looks sick though.

That looks very cool, and very ingenious work on your part. I'm sure your kid is going to love it; nice work.
