Not a fan of the S1KRR. To me it looks lost, not mean. I do like the tail, but that is about it. Headlight makes me laugh.

Basically, I wouldn't.....and the price tag is around 20K right??? Ridiculous!

 

Yeah no doubt about it, it looks good. BMW should be congratulated for building a hot looking Japanese bike.

 

It's a nice bike, like the look, but the head light??

 

I think the headlight is the best part about it really, I'm usually a fan of symmetry but I love that. And yeah 20k is steep but I see a lot of Ducati's and Aprilias around that cost around the same so someone out there is willing to spend it. And if it were me it'd be on the BMW.

 

i love the asymmetrical-ness of it.... the headlights, the side fairings, all of it.




but to me it doesn't look all that different


and there's no way i could afford it. so for me - its not that i wouldn't (cuz i would if i had the money), but i couldn't.

The asymmetry just kills me. Between the head lights and the fairings it all just drives me nuts.

 

I love it too. I watched a video the lead design engineer(IIRC) put on the interwebz about why he did it that way. Basically in a nut shell he said that the human brain is not symetrical and each side serves different purposes, he put that design into the bike. The head lights are different for ram air purposes, the sides are different for cooling purposes and something else. (this is all IIRC haha) The video is quite amazing, I'll try to find it.

 

There are certain things about the bike that I love and certain things that I hate. Right now it is probably the baddest production bike money can buy though. Would love to ride one just don't know if I would ever own one.
