do you think during a pit stop that they use a stand or does the guy just stand up and lift it up

Hmm I don't know.

Is that a Jardine or Yoshi pipe?

I will be the first to admit. I do not wear the right apperal. I have a jacket/helmet/gloves but no boots or pants. I know it is dangerous but I will get some stuff before summer (as long as my wife lets me spend some money)

Now that is just funny. I had no idea they actually raced those things. THat has got to be painful to squat down on those things.

No offense intended but that is one of the worst comments I have ever heard.....play safe, just spend the money! You don't ever want to have to say, I wish I did!!

RE: Sweet Ride

One of the worst??? No offense taken. Ok I cried a little. Well actuall a lot. Actually I am hoping to go in the next couple of weeks to get pants. I don't know about boots though. I am really picky (don't insert gay comments here) about what I get.

ChrisMcD 02-22-2006 02:25 PM

RE: Sweet Ride

Well one of the worst simply for the reason of why spare expense when it is over safety. If it was mods or something and she was deciding whether you should spend the cash or not I would understand more........hell I have a female lock on my wallet too!! LOL But spare no expense to save your rear!!

no1biscuit 02-22-2006 03:33 PM

RE: Sweet Ride

Female lock on my wallet... LOL

I know you are correct, I will not argue that. I will try to pick the lock this weekend...

Let your wife read this, either she will run out and buy you pant and boots or she will put you on restriction [sm=smiley14.gif]

Wow, That was hard core. I will post what I get this weekend or next so you all don't worry about me. Damn that was messed up. Damn... Ok I get it. You all love me and don't want to see me hurt. I love you all too (not in the way you all are thinking).

My Inverted Friend (look at our bikes), nobody like to see someone hurt like that. It kind of pi$$es on all our parades.

RE: Sweet Ride

Well, in regards to the full racing suits and stuff, they work great and all, but some people are on a budget. I am in the same boat as some other people here no doubt and only have a helmet, jacket and gloves. For pants, I wear double layer chapped style carhartt work pants with thin foam put into the knee pockets (they were my work pants for a while) and for boots, I just wear steel toe, steel heel and steel shanked construction work boots. Not the best look ever, but im sure its safer then the shorts and skate shoes I see some kids crusing around town with on their gixxer 600's in their wife beaters.

And about those pocket bikes... my friend had one and it would EASILY go upwards of 80km/h. More then fast enough to kill yourself. I remember a bunch of guys racing them around a local mall parking lot in the middle of the night and my buddy bailed on his after hitting an oil slick. The bike did a spin, hit a curb and flips over and slides down the pavement for a good 20-30 feet, tearing off the fairings, handle bars and destroying the rear rim. My buddy was thrown off, luckily, onto the pavement and then rolled into the grass when the bike hit the curb, but he WAS wearing carhartt work pants like mine and a helmet and came out with only minor bruises. Either way, those pocket bikes are no jokes. Those 49cc motors can fly with the race kits and nitrous /etc. you NEED full safety gear to run them at the speeds they are capable of.

I saw this one time on TV. They have racing series for the pocket Rockets! People of all ages do them and they can get them to go up to 40 or something like that. They do them in parking lots and stuff they looked pretty cool!
