Default Stolen Bike

Well the worst thing that could of happened, happened last night. I came home around 8:40 PM to find that my bike was gone. I just put a new full Yosh, power commander, 520 with a +- 1 tooth kit, K & N airfilter and bought all new plastic that I still have.

Here is the problem. This is the third bike stolen out of my apartment complex parking lot within the last six months. My neighbor had her's stolen less than two months ago. I asked the lady in the office if I could chain up my bike to something and I was told no because it would interfere with the side walk. I asked if I could park side ways between two parking spots blocking in my bike and someone else's, they said no because all vehicles would have to stay within the lines. I asked if I could park infront of my bike so they were both in the same spot and they said the back of my Toyota Matrix would stick out to far.

After I went through all that am I wrong to think that the complex now owes me some money because they would not help me or let me secure my property. I almost feel its like telling me I can't lock my car doors and tell me tuff sh*t if someone breaks in.

Not only has this been the 3rd bike in this lot, but atleast the 5th bike off this guys property (he also owns a bunch of town houses).

My bike was stolen between 6:30 and 8:30 PM last night

I live in southern Alabama right now and if anyone hears anything in the area please let me know 205-533-7860

I'd huck a brick through someone's window (not really). That is the worst...sorry! Some of the stolen bikes on this forum have been returned, so good luck!

I can feel your pain. Unfortunately this won't get it back, but next time just lock it up the way you feel it should be and say nothing to the landlords. If they say something, then you can make a change to plan "B", etc. Many times, nothing will be said.

My condolences.....shame its so easy to steal a bike. Got any pics? Im sure everyone will look out for it on ebay, etc. to try and help you out. Every time i hear about this i thank god I live in Maine where if anyone stole my bike I would know them and their parents anyway, lol. Seriously though, that sucks ***** and I hope you get your bike back in one piece and that oxygen thief gets what he deserves. Good luck!

My friends live in an apartment complex and he parks his car behind his bike in the parking spot. If I was you, I would have done it anyway. If this is the 3rd bike you should look into the complex management. It could be an inside job. You might want to talk to them about security cameras and stuff. Do you have a gate at the beginning of your complex?

comprehensive insurence?!? if not i would keep a VERY close eye on craigslist ext. ESPECIALLY eBay for the next few months. One of my buddys up in mn got his jet-ski stolen right off his dock and he reported it and everything and he just kept a close eye on ebay and sure enough! he asked the guy if he could come take a look at it.. so he went to go look at it and made sure it was his and sure enough! called the police the following weekday and they matched up the HIN #'s and bam! so dont give up man! put up some pics of it and what city you are located at and what not so we can all keep an eye out for it!

Post up your VIN#, pics if you got them. Start hitting up craigslist and ebay everyday. Never know, could get lucky like my friend. Hope you had some theft insurance.

Sorry to hear that man! Losing a bike SUCKS! About the asking permission from the landlords, I have a friend that says "Its better to ask forgiveness than permission." Do what you want and keep a low profile and you won't be bothered. Most likely.

yeah, dont ask to do anything in an apt, i have several neighbors who the mgmt has told not to work on bikes, cars or store stuff in their garage when they asked, i have been doing all of that in mine for 3 years and no one has said anything. its probably not an inside job although you cant really rule it all out, they probably just saw the other bikes during the theft of the first one or two and knew they could pull it off there. make sure you do check ebay and craigslist, hopefully you have a dumb theif who stole your bike and they didnt part it out. you just may find it, i have heard a few stories that ended up for the better that way. good luck.
